The little tank that could [n't]

So I suppose its time to start my tank build story. On one hand I want to win the 170 series and this increases my odds. And on the other to document my own progress of trial and errors.

Keep in mind and be warned. Compared to most other tanks on this site mine is very short of elegant. Its built as cheaply as possible due to having three wonderful kids and a wife. But this hobby is hard to get out of your blood.

So lets begin. I started 10 months ago with a standard 29gal that was my turtle tank for a long while. So it has some scratches and marks. I do plan to upgrade when finances allow but for now its my own little piece of the sea.

So currently after much craigslist and haggling ive aquired these things that have kept my tank going!

Tunze nanostreak 6015
Ancient and ghetto rigged with rubberbands and aqua sealant aquaclear protien skimmer
Ecoplus 793 return pump
Some sort of heater i got used with no writing on it
Dual ballast (only use one bulb) 250watt mh light
12gal pro clear sump...still has bioballs lol i need a new sump.

Now for inhabitants...

Blue damsel
Bi color blenny
5 acan frags
Frogspawn
Rbta
3 shrooms
1 mummy eye chalice
3 zoa frags
4 monti frags
1 leather
1 zenia frag

So update time. Slight rearanging. More needs to be done. I have been in contact with Adam of Battlecorals and will be purchasing a frag pack this week, small pack of acros to start. Not sure what I will get by I have given him free reign. These will be my first acros but i have had success with montis and birdsnest.

The past few weeks I have finnally stabilized my mag calc and alk....it was a stuggle but I feel like I know my tank now. Just over a year into!

Had an alk spike and it seemed to nearly kill my acans but they bounced back with a vengance growing new heads.
