The Mediocreef

Got some brine shrimp hatching in this thing now. 3D printing is as addictive as reef keeping.

Eggs float in the back, when the brine shrimp hatch they sink and swim towards the light at the bottom of the middle section. Then out through the grate on the front.
Hmmm I like this idea….

How big is it?

This should maybe be something that has magnets so you can have it at the top of the tank where it will be easier to access.

You need to be able to clean out old egg shells.

Maybe even a way to place a mesh between the hatchery and the escape route? Not sure how large brine are compared to their egg shells but I wouldn’t want that going into the tank

Just my 2 cents!!!

Definitely a work in progress. It's about 140x140x100mm or almost 6x6x4 inches.

As long as there isn't a lot of turbulence in the rear section the eggs.

I'll be testing it soon to find out.

Maybe I should just get a laser for this one project? I'm sure there are many other reasons to get one too.
Try printing vertically instead?

I don't think it would make a positive difference. More layers, more variations. Plus the bridging would be horrible. I'm running at a higher temp to get the filament to flow better and fuse the lines.
