Ok, I am stopping for the day. Don’t want to mess with the drains tonight. I have to make a little more salt water. No fresh water practice runs for me. LOL! There is water in the sump, tank and the rock is in it too.

That’s a LOT of rock for 75 pounds of Pukani. Some will not make the cut because I don’t want a lot of rock in the display. We will see what I can come up with when the water clears up tomorrow. I have a little Marineland pleated filter and a heater in there now.

Anyway, it is a start.

I ran out of salt water. An unplanned start this morning. I didn't want to mess with the drains tonight anyway. No leaks, so far. I added water to the sump and used the two Vectras to pump it up to the tank so I could see if anything leaked in those lines. Drains may be another story but should be ok.

My design won't be traditional. I'm aware of that. Getting it to look the way I want is a big deal. Andrew chose the sump area. I get the DT.

Traditional is boring, just ask my sump

Awesome! Is it running t5s up there?

There is a T5 / LED hybrid ATI fixture up there, but no bulbs installed yet. Also two Kessils on the ends. Won't need lights for a while. Going to let the tank sit and just start to build an ecosystem. Tony Vargas spoke at one of our local club meets and he said he lets tanks cycle and mature for 3-4 months before starting to stock with fish or corals. Don't know if I will make it that long though. I definitely could if I wanted to though. LOL!

It is a start. I didn't plan to do that today. I just couldn't look at that thing sitting empty any longer. Anyway, I didn't have quite enough water on hand to complete it. No rush though. It will be there tomorrow.
