Dude that’s awwsome. 900hp on a stock bottom endHope everyone is doing well.
Soooooo........we found out when a mostly stock bottom end Volvo 2.5t I5 will blow up. 38 lbs of boost lol. Broke 3 rods, but the pistons look good. By math and air/fuel flow from the data log, the motor made about 900 Hp before it popped lol. Bad thing was, 0 detonation or spark knock until the rods broke lol.
Waste gate line split yesterday while doing a full throttle pull to tune the car.
Luckily I have a fully built and sleeved 2.5 (now a 2.3) that was planned to be put in an old Volvo 240. Now Damian’s is going to have it in his car. Kinda glad and kinda sad. He will have a motor that is capable of over 1000hp, be tuned for about 500, so it should last a long time. This time around all lines will be stainless and hard piped. The wastegate line location is way to close to the exhaust manifold. I am also going to build a spark and fuel cutoff for the tune. Should have already had an overboost setting done, but didn’t.
With all that said, the 7’ frag tank is getting no attention this weekend lol.

It didn’t last though lol. It would be awesome if it wouldn’t have blown up lol.Dude that’s awwsome. 900hp on a stock bottom end![]()
Yeah but just running for a little at 900hp and 38lb of boost is impressive. Imagine that block builtIt didn’t last though lol. It would be awesome if it wouldn’t have blown up lol.

That’s relieving. Hoping you can stay safe and dry.I have been AWOL. Dodged another storm. Lucky this time. I came back today and didn’t find any additional damage, so far. My neighborhood flooded, but I got lucky and stayed dry inside. We evacuated again and were gone only three days this time. Now if the hurricanes will just leave me alone, everything will be good.
Thanks. Me too! That’s relieving. Hoping you can stay safe and dry.
Well whatever they were...they're dead now ;Dead...checked all my doors and windows to make sure there weren't more, then sprayed all around the house, including doors and windows. Been seeing some sugar ants and a few fleas (cat is strictly indoor cat, so I know she didn't bring them in) in the house, and the blasted skeeter are 10X worse, since hurricane Sally came through a few weeks ago. They remind me of nymph box elder beetles
Yep. Lots of standing water. More than likely you brought the fleas in.Well whatever they were...they're dead now ;Dead...checked all my doors and windows to make sure there weren't more, then sprayed all around the house, including doors and windows.
