I have so much to learn. 8 gallons, 29 gallons, 32 gallons, and now 93. All tanks are different. Sumps are new for us. I'm going to make mistakes. I'm going to have failures. Lots of them.

We went with Bahama oolite sand in this build instead of Fiji pink. We're planning on some livestock that would be happier with a finer grain. Looking to do 2.5" of sandbed. Maybe one area slightly deeper.

I know for sure we'll need either another CP25 or 1K
You like the gyro style? Do you need to clean them mo frequently than the traditional style? I have a Ice cap 1k,
ran it for a minute and it sounds like the bearing is made from 60 grit and paper, most likly just an alignment or a bushing,
maybe the kid can do something with it ;)

I know. I just want them for surface agitation. Yes, they are a pain to clean. Andrew does a pretty good job. I know there are better options for flow, but trying to use what we have already.

I think the flow pattern is a BETTER option in some cases. With you running fine sand is probably the right option.
in this pic you can see the sand moving from just the return blasting on the front glass. I added the Y spin flow thingy to stop it.

Planning to use RFG also. How deep is yours?

I have 2" of sand, I used the calculator and it said 4 @40lbs but I should have done 6. I do vac my sand so being shallow I can almost get the entire tank done in one WC.

Funny you mentioned that. I just got 40lbs more lbs jic. It was such a good sale it would have been foolish not to.

Whew... only 4 pages to catch up on ;)

Will be here following from here on out. So happy and excited for u and andrew. Cant wait to see the all white look. Ice queen accents.

Hope to see you take the project on at the pace that's best for you and andrew. On all scales. It's going to be amazing no matter what the time frame is.

Cheers kat. And enjoy every step of the way!
