The more you have the more you get?

Just curious does anyone think the more polyps they have the fast more grow? All my z&p that just have 1 or 2 polyps seem to take forever to sprout a new one, but my larger mini colonies seem to pop a new polyp out every week. Anyone else believe this to be true?

I think this is very true, it's kind of like cellular division... the rate of growth increases exponentially in direct relation to the size of the colony... at least that's been my experience

Disagreed. I have a single rasta frag that produces a baby almost each month, but the 3 polyps frag produces none.

Agreed. Started off with two baby clementines and they took forever to pop out a baby (1-2 months?), but now that they have they have been popping out one every 2 weeks.

I think when they get to me a little larger they are more stable and can reproduce faster. I have seen the same thing, but it is also directly proportionate to the stability of the mount as well. When a zoa covered rock has expanded to the point where it will no longer rock around from snails or crabs, it tends to grow faster. When they are moveable they tend to stick to their plug more.
