I looked into the Reef Waves for my new RSR 525XL I am currently setting up but (particularly for us in Australia) the price point was too high for me. I went with a twin head MaxSpect Gyre XF350 instead.

We have one on pre order thru Aquarium Speciality. Their website says it starts shipping in February. My husband has been in contact with Red Sea. He told me, that they told him the factory in China has been temporarily shutdown. That is all the information I know.

If you visit the website you can view or download the manual. I looked thru it, but didnt see anything about the external magnet being waterproof.
