Hello all, my name is Kris and I am new to the whole reef tank hobby. I have been wanting to do a reef tank for some time now. I had 60g fresh water tank for 10yrs and finally decided to convert it to a SW that I am setting up as a mixed reef. I am looking forward to learning alot on this forum and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Kris, This is a good place for info. I have learned a "lot" since I joined. So Do You have any equipment, pumps, lights, skimmer, etc. The reef squad will want more info from Ya for sure. Also I pic of your tank helps.
Good Luck !

Welcome to R2R! My advice is always to go slow.... go slow cycling, go slow stocking.... take your time with everything. Nothing good in this hobby ever happened fast.

Agree with melypr1985. I've learned quickly it's all about water parameters. My experience is they fluctuate the first 4 to 5 months.

Welcome Kris!

I have to agree with billyn,I've been in the hobby since just b4 last thanksgiving and the first 4 or 5 months was tough,a lot of fluxuating in parameters.one thing I learned was water changes are key,not a bunch of supplaments to stabilize it,just a simple 20% water change every 2 weeks, personally I do it every weekend and everything in the tank just loves it.good luck to you.
