The oddball fighting conch living in the rockwork

I know many just love the conch for how they clean the sand bed. I've got 2 in my 66 gallon display. Both about 1.25" in size. So not all that big. One spends its day doing the conch thing. Cleaning the sand and peeking out. The other now, he is the odd ball to what we know. He spends his days up in the rockwork. Many times I put him down in the sand where there is a little of algae or detritus.. The sand dweller typically just stays in an area in the front of the tank. The other cruises by it once in a while on his way to rockwork. It's funny to see but when I put it in those dirty areas, he heads right back to the rocks. He'll start cleaning the bottom then head up to the top cleaning all the while. He cleans up all the coral like a trochus would. If you haven't seen a conch in the rocks it is quite funny to see as they don't move like other snails. Not quite built for that vertical climb but he gets it done. This pic was taken moments after I put him in the sand. He promptly headed up to the coral and got it cleaned spotless

You need a video of that! I can't imagine mine getting up the rocks at all. Impressive.

I had a conch in my last tank.. they are awesome, but mine kept finding ways to go off roading a lot.. I had a 2" gap between rocks and all around the tank to give it room to roam.. nope.. it would find that one little rock next the bolder and start climbing it.. it would fall off and try it over and over until it finally realised it was not going to happen..

They are awesome to watch and have in the tanks.

Mine will climb up on the glass and reach as far as they can. They fall over after a bit. But no rocks yet.
