I swear their font makes it easier to miss. I wonder how easily it would be converted to nitrate by your biofilter if you do dose it...

it would probably convert, but I already ordered the normal stuff. And shoot, I’m not going to go experimenting just to save $14.99!!! It’s still cheaper than buying the “reef” Chems in the bottle to dose it, even if I have to buy it twice every time.

Well I can’t remember the last time I bought any coral other than sps for my reef. I trade for some lps here and there, usually a chalice or brain that’s getting too big for somebody’s reef. Well I saw this orange hammer at the local shop and just had to get it. It’s gorgeous in person.

I’ve been gone vacationing for about a month and my stonies all look great, my LPS are suffering. I’m not sure if it is from the system being fed much less frozen food during this time, from a bad batch of Teef Crystals, or from my ph slowly dipping from 8.1-2 to 7.8 range after adding my new calcium reactor. None of my other values have changed.Two boxes of RC in a row from different shops Have had a weird flaky residue floating on top after mixing. It doesn’t get in to the system because of where the drain is situated. I am introducing Fritz blue box To change things up. I like the lower alkalinity compared to Reef Crystals. I have also added this week a buffering chamber for the calciu None of my other values have changed. m reactor. My ph is now a steady 8.1.

I have lost most of my giant Duncan colony during this, and several chalices that have been thriving look sick and have receded. Hopefully they bounce back. The upside is that my sps look better than ever.

The time has come to begin the remodel of the room that houses my 220 sps tank, so I have received several quotes from tank builders and I just need to decide which one. I'd like to have a 48x60x24 penensula, but the price of this will probably steer me towards going with a 48x48x24. It's down to AGA, Planet, and CDA. They all look like good builds from solid companies.

Part 1 is building the system to hold my SPS for several months while I do the remodel. I bought a 6x2x1 frag tank almost a year ago for this purpose and finally set it up yesterday. I'll run water through it for a couple of weeks to make sure the there are no leaks or defects in the build, then move over the SPS. I'll keep what I can on the rocks they have encrused to, the rest I will move to travertine tiles.

Those dimensions sound ridiculous. Is the price really that much different for a 60” over a 48”? If you really want that 60” might be worth it!

It’s from a local reef shop. It’s a pretty cheap tank with standard glass. I painted the bottom and back with Duratex, which is material I use for coating subwoofer cabinets. It rolls on in a couple of coats and is very durable, kind of like Line-X.

Are you going for a rimless tank? Maybe going from 4 to 5 feet triggers going up to 3/4 glass? Would you consider eurobrace to keep costs lower? I want you to get the bigger tank!

Glass Cages bumped It up to 3/4 glass with the larger size. Here are the specs I requested:

- 48x48x24 and 60x48x24

- Eurobraced with no center brace
- external overflow/ no internal hardware
- return holes back Upper corners
- black back glass
- peninsula
- black silicon
