Being the cheap blue collar working stiff I am, I think I've stumbled onto something that is not only cheap to buy but also very easy to set up.

Please let me introduce to you my latest creation . The J-PEX.

If you go to amazon Pick up a few tantan smart plugs. I bought a box of 4 for $25. You can turn any device on/off anywhere in the world. It also sends you notifications after30 minutes if one of your devices is not working or disabled. Also has a nice little app. Very easy to set up.

Im trying to find a way to check salinity, ph and temperature. But this is a step in the right direction.

Do they default on or off in a power failure?

I have not tested them yet. Just set it up yesterday.
I believe once the power comes back on they should turn back on,

This will hold me over till I'm ready for an apex

If you have gauges you can actually see... theres always Wyze Cams. Veeeeeery inexpensive but packs a punch.

Superb 1080p vid streamed to your phone along with Audio. I have my whole house secured with these lil cams that send me push-notifications when theres movement. It also picks up on smoke detector alarm noises

My house (at 945pm at night):

I have the same setup. let me add a pic..lol

If you’re looking for the poor mans temperature control/monitor I recommend the new Inkbird ITC 306a with WiFi.
Do you know if the outlets can be set independently? can I set one heater to a certain temp and the other at a different temp as a back up only?

This is a great idea. Which exact plugs did you purchase and are you using only the app that comes with them? I am trying to figure out what to do about backup heating and power for two small tanks.
