The prettiest Blennies

As far as prettiest Blenny I would have to say Midas Blenny.

Thanks @Zack Klabunde in your experience, does this species do same or better job than lawnmower blenny?

IME thy do not eat algae nearly as well as lawnmowers. If that's what your asking. The Midas Blenny prefers more of a meaty diet IMO. I'm sure @eatbreakfast can give you more in depth insight

I have 2 favorites, the orange spotted.

But I am in love with all bennies, those faces get me:)

Cutest face for me is dusky yellow streak

How can you not love those faces? We are waiting for our first fish this week. An eyebrow blenny. Can anyone tell me more about them? Lfs said they would be perfect to live in our barnacles.

Midas blennies are planktavores like anthias so not great at algae reduction.

Are you wanting a species to help control algae/detritus or just something cool for the tank?

Salarias blennies are good for algae and safer with sps. Some ecsenius sp are good for algae as well but may be more of a risk with sps. You should be OK with bicolor, twospot and tailspot but I've personally had/have a problem with lineatus and know someone with a similar experience with namiyei (though these are probably rogues).

I have a hard time keeping the Midas on my reef. Not sure why. He ate like a pig every feeding then one day stopped and was DOA within 24 hours. Everyone else was fine and H2O pars were perfect. He lasted one month.

My next fish is going to be a Blenny if I can find one. Not sure exactly the one yet.

Hi ReefQueen, can I ask if you know the scientific name for the orange spotted blenny? I just gotta have one! Thanks!

@eatbreakfast beat me to the punch, but i love my orange spotted. He is very shy though, but the few minutes a day I get to see his face poking out is worth it lol.
