Beautiful!

100 on this beautiful ornate leopard wrasse. Came DOA. Can't find one in any of my LFS sadly.

The most I’ve ever spent on any fish was 35 on a royal gramma. I REALLY want a diamond tail flasher wrasse. I don’t think I will regret it if I get one, but there’s no way to know for sure.

Where do I even begin? I feel like between all the ups and downs I’ve had with my tank I should’ve been able to open my own store with the fish’ and coral losses. Lol but 8 years later It’s finally clear how slow and steady is the best way. Looking back I’ve realized every time I ended up neglecting the tank and experiencing major loss was after a series of good things led to a whole bunch of impulse buys at which point I was more focused on buying new stuff instead of testing and maintaining water quality. But I’m happy to saw I never lost heart enough to shut the tank down.

my biggest regret though by far has to be a purple carpet anemone I was sold only 2 months after my cycle for $300 at least 18” across. Deep down I knew that was prolly not the right choice and I was certain of it when I watched it wither away 7 days later. You live and u learn
Expensive lesson but we all have had one, be it corals or something different. Mine, a sailboat at 18?
What the??!

I try not to regret purchases. If I buy something I have to be OK with what I am paying before I buy it or I just don't buy it. That goes for all things.

Do Not Regret: $1500 Male Blue Stripe Tamarin Wrasse (that's the most I've spent and I thought I'd regret it but I don't, yet)

Please tell me you have a lid!

For fish - $200 for a spectacular half black eibli hybrid angel. Still going strong 4 years on. Same price for a pair of yellow multi-banded pipefish.

Coral - different story, since I don't buy frags (ever). So about $350 for a 6" diameter Australian purple acropora with white corallites. I think the name others have given the same species with similar flesh/corallite color is "purple monster". But I don't call it that. ;)

$900 for a pair of cherry anthias. I lost them to velvet but still no regrets.

When you start selling frags and making a little money, it’s easier to justify spending it on more expensive things and it doesn’t hurt the same. If I sell 50 $10 frags I probably don’t want 50 more $10 frags.

Fish: 60 on a Flasher Wrasse that decided to go carpet surfing (first jumper ive ever had and turned me into a believer of lids)
Inverts: 45 a piece for my fire shrimp pair
Coral: 80 for an Elegance

I just bought an ornate and a black from my LRS (females) and so far so good. I'm sorry you lost yours. I hope you can find another.

But I also only paid 30.00 a piece.
