the quietest skimmer

Hey guys, im planning on putting a tank in my room that i share with my brother and he really doesnt like to sleep with too much noise, so what would be the most quiet skimmer rated for mor than 200 gallons? (around $350) i have the octo 160 extreme and have been really impressed. should i stick with the octos or is there a better one out there? Thanks!

There are quite a few quiet skimmers out these days, what size of display tank do you have.

I can tell u I run a LIFE REEF and it is the quietest skimmer ive ever seen period and they are under rated mine came with a mag 9.5 but i just put a new mag 12 on it and silent as a mouse i love it. LifeReef skimmer are a set and forget skimmer. no tinkering with adjustments or BS plug it in set the water level(one time) and dump the bucket one a week
My VS24 (rated for 250 with stock pump) is running my 300g mixed reef LPS SPS dominate

im planning out a 140ish zeovit tank. My octo 160 is on my 75 now but i dont think it would be big enough for the zeovit + lots of fish. need to over skim some

BTW tank is 240 cube with 75g sump / fuge and i have over 100 different corals and 25+ fish. a few of which are HUGE 9in DR fish and 7+in pinktail trigger and i overfeed everyday to keep my fish fat and happy . And my LIFEREEF is still over there silent all i hear is my fans on my lighjt fixture.

There are lots of skimmers out there, but if I could do it all over again I'd look into some sort of vibration reduction either below the skimmer or below the sump. I sleep with a fan on so I don't hear the skimmer at all but in the between when my lights/fans turn off and the time I go to sleep, I can hear my skimmer purring away.

I think pretty much all sounds that come from the tank are soothing and help me sleep. All except a pump rattling against the glass or snail shell. Oh, and water overflowing on the floor!

you can make any skimmer quiet as you want if ya play with it.... i had a atb mini star that was super loud and after making a new silencer for it and some rubber feet i cant even here a humm....
