Hello everyone . I decided to try my hand at seawater and finally started building an aquarium from scratch. Let me mention right away that I am not an expert, and everything I do, I do myself. So, thanks to your posts, I came up with the idea of a marine aquarium. I read a lot, looked at designs and took what I liked. I don't know how much it will be worth. That's why any suggestion is welcome. That's it for starters, all my subsequent additions to the post will be specifically aquarium related. ;)
I decided on an aquarium that has the appearance of decay. I found a not very large number of such shapes on the net and I immediately liked them. I didn't know how demanding it was, starting with the glass making itself. For my aquarium, I opted for 10 mm thick glass and crystal clear glass. That's how I started first to make a stand for the aquarium... I took the pipes, made the structure, sanded it all nicely and took it to the plasticizer.

Evo kako izgleda postolje...

HI welcome to R2R!!

Awesome build.. Good thing about doing it all custom.. there is no rules.
Will check back in later when you start adding :)

Wow, that is impressive! I look forward to seeing how this turns out.

the first day since I filled the aquarium with sea. It is still a little cloudy from the stones and sand. Now, one question...how long did you cycle your system and did you turn on the stream pumps immediately? .... New pictures coming soon

Awesome setup! I'll be following.

Lights off, pumps on.
Seed with bacteria,(liquid nitrifier, live rock, sand etc.)
Add ammonia source.
Wait it out, test often stock slowly.
Good Luck

Sjajna namještaljka! Ja ću vas pratiti.

Svjetla ugašena, pumpe upaljene.
Sjeme s bakterijama,(tekući nitrifier, živa stijena, pijesak itd.)
Dodajte izvor amonijaka.
Pričekajte, testirajte često zalihe polako.
Sretno
Thanks for the advice, I'll turn off the light to begin with, and in addition to 20 kg of dry, I also added about 15 kg of live stone and a couple of kg of quick sand with active bacteria.
I'm not sure how and in what quantity you would add the ammonia?
The total volume with sump is about 390 liters.

A couple ways to add ammonia.
1 Fishless cycle by adding ammonia chloride, feeding the tank with fish food or adding a chunk of seafood. If you use the ammonia chloride choice read instructions carefully, do not overdose.
2 Live fish cycle is when you add a fish to cycle the tank. Can be very stressful for the fish.

Definitely following along!

Hello friends,
let's continue with the drop off aquarium. Lately, I've been noticing a strange boredom that is slowly starting to spread around the aquarium. I'm not sure what it is, but it looks like a plant or a tree branch. I took a couple of pictures. It looks very soft to me, but it is very difficult to pull it off. Whitish brown color.
Does anyone know or can identify what it is about?

It looks like bryopsis but the color isn’t right. Maybe some pics under white lights. Reef Flux took care of the bryopsis with no harm to fish, inverts or corals.
yes, the pictures are really bad quality. I will try with white light. Is it a type of algae or what?
