Hello, Joseph again. I want to know about the care on sea grasses because there is not much known about them. That being said, I have collected seagrass before in Florida because I lived there for most of my life and near the shore I used to collect various species of Macroalgae’s, some I have not even seen before.I used to find rare species such as Halimedeia.I used to live in New Port Richey Florida. Since I am 15 years old me and my dad used to take his boat and go pretty far offshore, about 2 to 3 miles.I used to go snorkeling all day and pick out the algae’s I like. However, now I live in New York and I cannot acquire these algae species
anymore. When we moved up to New York,I had to take down the tank that had all the Macroalgae in it, so unfortunately I will not be able to get those species again. But, I will show you a book with the algae’s I’ve collected. This is a book I used to check off various species of algae’s that I used to collect.Hopefully this will peak your interest. Please let me know if you want to see more photos.

Halmedia is a plant different from other macro's in that it absorbs a fair amount of calcium.
Halmedia and other macro's are not too hard to come by, many online sites sell chaeto and graciliara, caulerpa may be available depending on type and what state you live in(so like I'm in CA where some types of caulerpa are actually illegal to sell here.)
Maybe you had more varieties available, but these are most common for most of us.
Pics are always welcome, feel free to post what you collected, and keep in mind in doing so that some things may have required a collectors license or permit to collect legally, not sure your area laws, but keep it in mind.

Try freshwater plant stores. They sometimes carry Caribbean sea grass.

Check out live-plants.com lots of interesting macros. I did find a site a while ago that sold seagrasses. I'll see if I can find it again.

Floridapets.com is the place I found a few types of seagrasses for sale. Never dealt with them before so I have no idea about quality etc...
