I'm assuming your using this to Cycle the tank? If so it might speed up the process, but it's not really needed IMO. Time is your best friend here. If your in this for the long haul just be patient and let nature take it's course. GL.
As stated above , Yes it will work and it will take time. Be sure to add something for the bacteria to eat. Raw table shrimp will work. It will still be weeks before you can add livestock safely.
With this stuff the cycle period isn’t that long. Watch it carefully as it will come and go quickly. After I finished using what I needed for a cycle I added a little periodically to boost the bacterial colony. Trust me. It’s good
I used it to cycle my tank and it does help but it still takes time and dr Tim's isn't a fast way either because it takes about a month even with it and you can't listen to what the bottle tells you about adding fish the same day because I used it on one of my tanks and I had ammonia for around a little over a week so none of these methods make anything any faster I mean they help but it still takes time
