Doing some maintenance today on my 14 gallon and had the glass top off. Left the room for two minutes to clean my filter sock out and came back to one of my cats standing on the edge of the tank, paw in the water. It ran off when it seen me, but I noticed one of my torch heads looked like below when he ran off:

It is deflated and pulled in a bit. Other head is retracted a bit which is expected. Would it be worth a dip, or should I wait and see for a day? I have been fighting dinos so temp was at 82once this happened I set thermostat to 81 and will start stepping back to 78 (dino fight is mostly done anyhow). The water level was low since I was doing a water drain through a filter sock to get some gunk off the sandbed.

I do think this head is about to sprout or split as one side of the skeleton has been growing out a bit, so hoping it could also be related to that.

Tank occupants are two clowns and a fire fish, 4 trochus snails, 2 cerith snails, 1 turbo snail, and 1 nassarius snail.

A cat fish! I would leave it and wait.
My wife said the same thing! I’m ticked but can’t help but laugh a little. I’ve had tanks for years in freshwater and we have 6 axolotls and this is the first time anything like this has happened, just so happened on the most expensive setup…

Add carbon immediately or Chemipure blue which will remove any toxins and acids from urine.
If you have no cover, consider saran wrap as a shield

Already running carbon, since I’ve been fighting dinos I’ve been running carbon to avoid toxins as the uv has been murdering it. The cover is a glass cover, just had it off for all of ten minutes. Perfect window of time for the cat to strike.

When lights came on I noticed white stuff in the water. Looks like both heads are now disintegrating. :(
