I think you possibly missunderstand the TRITON method.
1. it´s not about to get people in need for TRITON products, like some here are thinking about it.
As we give you the amounts of , for example Iodine, and don´t tell you that TRITON element 45 is missing.
You are able to use any product but a lot more concious/aware of what you add.
for example you can dose Randy´s diy Iron-Citrate or Potassium iodid.... but you have more controle over the dosing.( as you can test for them).
You can still do Waterchanges but you can test the water before you change to see if it´s better then the water in your tank.
The Triton Methode is more the result of an sientific aproach to reefkeeping.
As a professional and very transparent company we can not hide, from the responsibility, to help our costumers after a detailed test like the ICP-OES.
We can not and will not start to blame other companys because of bad salts, additives ,... we decided to create a methode superior enough to keep up with a ICP-OES test, and make your next test look better, and reach your goels easy and without to much effort from your side.
Relying on the effort and abilities of our company. ( for sure we make this controlable for you by the testing service ).
So what i want to say in my bad english is you can use what ever you want and do any method while using the ICP test, and if your tank is fine and the test is good, go on.
But if you see your results in the tank can be improved and the test also is showing improvment possibilities, then start improving:
Eliminate errors, find contamination sources...
At the end you will have your own method, also able to create a tank that in a ICP-TEST will show up a lot of greens, or you do the TRITON method and have one from the beginning.

the conclusion is we created the TRITON method with a lot of knowledge and experiance because of the laboratory and all the informations and reaserch we have done over the years.
And you as the costumers are also able to get this knowledge do testings and create a as advanced methode, because we deliver you this knowledge as a service.
So you just need to decide wich way you want to go in your hobby
