Since you aren’t keeping any coral yet (good to wait!) you can minimize light duration and intensity. That’ll help some, but really it doesn’t look bad.

Wish I had room. It’s tight under the display as is. Barely fits a 20 long down there.

Do you have a skimmer the sump? If so I'd consider replacing that with a chaeto chamber. In my experience growing a little bundle of cheato is far more effective at reducing nutrients than a skimmer. To be fair though I don't have a super expensive skimmer.

I do but it’s in the same section as the filter sock. Only really 2 sections in my sump.
