Well.
Not a perfect day so far . Not too shabby though .
The UPS guy made my day bringing the box in the house . I couldn't have done it .
I thought my Tunze nano magnet was in the UPS flat box .

It's been a strange journey so far with my reef buddies and I .
Tbh20 and his Marineland tank seam issues . 3 returns
ECUreefer and his destroyed Cadlights Versa 66 rimless and missing parts . He refused the shipment .
The second one was in town but they wouldn't deliver it due to a corporate issue with CL n FedEx Freight .
He was able to get the tank but is held up by missing parts .

It's been a roller coaster ride for me since I have had to deal with a lot of different vendors.
Amazon Prime is $$ comparative and no glitches with free 2 day being the bee's knees .
PA Dry goods have been awesome .. The other side ( rather not comment but its resolved )
BRS did well
In tank llc was great
Sweet Pets local lfs has been great .
Ecotech .. I was confused on pre-orders . Never seen someone take your money upfront unless they have the item in stock . 4-8 leeway . I called accounting and they took care of it .
I do did not see it process on my debit yet .
Aquacave has been awesome but I am missing a Tunze nano Magnet . I plan to use the long on the Fusion 40 n the nano on the QT fusion 10 .
CV was good but inconsistent on product info but shipped quickly even though I got an open box never used item.
Ebay quick and consistent with the exception of a live stock seller .(big let down )
Won't comment on livestock vendors yet than what was stated so far. ( nothing bad though )
Tank appears intact . I can't get it out myself so I have to wait for Ecureefer . He may come this evening or in the morning when we start on the Oceanic Stand Redux .

BTW the tank in the box is a NUVO fusion 40 cube.

This is the water damaged stand we are going to revamp on Saturday . It uses a smoked glass door . It would have been nice to be able to paint the stand white to keep the SW Storm Trooper Look consistent . Wifey's

No Reef Smart for me .

Pardon the deck . I have been slowly stripping it to redo it . Spray the stuff on and soak . Rinse off with water hose .

It's going to take a bit on the stand . It's possible we were moving too fast with it yesterday . Both of us were half asleep and it caused a lot of laughs and back tracking .
The stand will have to cure for a bit . Orange Peel is common with laquer spray. I have to go to Lowe's n pick up a few things today .
I need the magnetic latch and Parval ? sprayer to try to get the orange peel out . U can't really see it in the home . I know it's there so I'll try to remedy it before I get to the next step .

It's great the wood that can be salvaged has kreg pockets in it already . The sides r 3/4 wood .

Did some measuring and we decided to to make the top and bottom flush to the front and just a tad larger vs the tank .




Birch is primed on one side already. It comes that way .

I have no clue what were were doing here . Ecureefer has some pic's of me but i'd rather stay incognito .We scuffed the stand with a palm sander .






We used a heat gun and a can of spray paint to roll the veneer trim on ,

We forgot towels and paper towels were not cutting it . Darn thing gets hot .

I am missing the pic's on my phone camera . We used a compressor to remove the dust from the stand . Priming the stand pics are missing .

We went to get a bite to eat . It was like 90 degrees already .

Got back after doing a few other things and started sanding the stand .

The orange peel made it a lil frustrating . The stand kept sucking up paint . We quit spraying after 4 cans .

Got the stand in the house and put the door on , Just missing the mag latch .

Not upset over the orange peel . It happens when you use laquer spray rattle cans .
It was basically a free stand . It sure beats that MDF 299.95 one that IM offers .
As far as hanging the geisemann I am exploring 3 options .
Bend some conduit and spray it .
Get a buddy to weld a steel light rack .
Use 80 /20 . I already know what parts are needed .

Just came home from Lowe's
Got the Magnetic Latch
Preval Sprayer , Lacquer Thinner , n some non misc related items .
I am going to try to get rid of the orange peel with some method I read on the www.

Salt RSCP 34ppt Sybon
CA 450 ppm RS pro test kit
DKH 10.0 " "
Mag 1490 " " keeping it this high to inhibit bad algae on frag plugs

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 5 ppm
Nitrate 10 ppm

Sure looks like u had a jack of all trades helping u. Stand came out pretty good considering the shape it was in to start with. Surprised u didn't take pics of my shorts hahaha

Yes u were a big help .Except the painting part . ( we suck ) .Half to 3/4 would not be done with you and Rufryder's help . Nah it's a family site . Not too sure if a mod would have deleted the pic of u mooning everyone . U split them pretty bad . Now u have to get rid of them . I am sure the lil lady is glad of that . I bet she was a lil uneasy when we went to lunch and the deli was pretty packed with ppl . LOL

I don't know since I would have to cut my old conduit rod from my 70 cube . It's bent forward too much since that cube was bigger . Maybe 80 /20 is the best route .

I burned thru the paint to the primer . So it's back to the drawing board again . lol .

I mentioned earlier that I was missing the nano magnet( tunze care ) . I loved the long but it was too strong for the lil qt tank .
I just created another help desk ticket and Aqua Cave answered quickly . I read the message hmm . It's in the tank taped to the bottom of the screen.
I never bothered to check since I was still tinkering with the stand paint .

Well so much for my id10t moment . I sent A C ( good service btw ) an apology . When I am wrong , I admit it . If I am right it's a whole different approach .

Didn't see anything here .




I opened the plastic and flipped the screen . Uh oh, I see it .

Build has taken a set back .
I had to be in sync with my reefing buddies tbdh20 and ecu reefer . I have officially joined the tank mishap club .
ECU came over this evening and we got the tank out the box to only notice it was damaged . It had to have been dropped hard on one corner . The crack runs from the rear corner in a s pattern all the way to the top . I have sent aquacave the pic's and created another help ticket .

The styro top looked fine but the bottom was all broken apart .

We were pushed for time so we will try to get it boxed back up tomorrow evening.
