The Upgrade Build... From 110 to 180

Valuable lessons learned today...

Mounting a BUNCH of corals is also fragging as you WILL break a few.

Midas Blennys have teeth that hurt when they decide to bite you multiple times.

Grandma Grumpy the giant Maroon Clownfish NEVER likes ANYTHING!!! Always trying to bulldoze whatever isn't nailed down.

Lessons learned.

Pics to come...

I can't wait till these new rocks get some color. They look real strange and out of place right now.

Next time I take pics, I'm going to try adjusting the clock on my lights so they are on at a natural color but at NIGHT so I can take pics without the glare and reflections.

Ya just expanded 5 seconds ago and now you’re out of room again????
Time for a new tank.

I think i'm done getting new corals for a while.
I need to let the new rocks get some color and mount the last of what I've got to wherever they will permantly
be.
After that...

Sit back and enjoy!

Followed the whole thread. Awesome progress. I thought my Midas was the only one to bite... Gets me on the forearm all the time.

Yup, surprised the hell out of me when it happened the first time. Thought it was one of my clowns. He did it again so I knew it was him. Never expected it.

Something broke my Bleeding Tree Stag!
Urrrrgh!
Broke the ROAB Digi too.

Only thing I can imaging breaking them are either my turbo snails or my grumpy giant maroon clown tried to bulldoze them and broke them instead.
I will take pics once I get back home.

Now I have to go try to find the broken pieced to put it on plugs.

Dude, that looks like a massacre. I don’t see how a clownfish or a snail would have done that? Are they just incredibly brittle? I’ve never had sps so no personal experience with them.

I don't think they are that brittle but...
My maroon clown is about 5 to 6 inches and she is very strong.
She has bulldozed large rocks in the past..
She is easily strong enough to snap sps.

I have not found the broken pieces. No idea where they went and I'm not breaking everything down to find them.

The Bleeding Tree does not look like it's gonna make it through this event.

Ok... Update time.
The rock is starting to color up. It will be a few weeks or months till it looks like the other rocks but they are on their way.

I got my nitrate to 5ppm and phosphate to 0.04. I would like my nitrates a bit lower but I can live with 5ppm.

I ordered Reef rax corner magnetic reef rack and a single reef rax. These look like real live rock (supposedly). This will allow me to place corals on the back wall in what will be floating rocks.
There are a few other places that sell magnetic reef rocks and depending on how I like what I just purchased, I may get more from these different companies.

I will take pics soon.

I'm considering ditching my T5 bulb for a reefBrite XHO actinic fixture.
I have no idea how I would mount it though.

I can't believe it!
My large Staghorn is dead!

Last night it looked good as it always has and this morning it had no skin. RTN like I've never seen before.

All other SPS looking normal.

Just weird that it bit the bullet like that.

Pics to come later when I get home.
