Nice! I did the same - dry rock & live sand. Used Dr Tim’s One & Only. Took me one month to fully cycle. Good luck!

Speaking about Dr. Tims One and Only. I had purchased it but doesn't arrive until next Tuesday. Can I still use it being that the tank has been 1 week in the cycle phase?

Don’t think you will have any issues. Just bacteria to get the cycle started.

I really liked how the live sand worked , then added a few random pieces of actual live rock from lfs to seed my dry base rock.

Thanks. Most likely keep it simple with Green Star Polyps or a small Kenya Tree or Neon Green hairy mushrooms. As for fish, my 2 little Nemos and definitely something to help clean the sand like a small Hermit crab and a cleaner shrimp. Still haven't really decided being that I'm limited in tank size. Lol

I'm mainly looking for things that can be easily maintained for this tank. I'm new to this realm. I'm just praying this tank does well and when it does, I'll look into something alittle bigger tank wise to broaden my selection of corals and fish. Until then... baby fins for me. Lol
