i have a war coral and didnt relive that the sweeper's got 6-10" long and well battled my acanstrea and won, i have a wat i believe to be a echinata or acanstrea bowerbanki and well it killed half my tricolor acro colony! it was kinda cool to see the natuaral fury of them but then again it was my favorite acan that lost!

I just found out the same thing! Has a war coral on one end of a frag rack and a nice sunset fungia on the other end and they baby reached almost 12" and stung half of it to death! It is making a recovery though. :D

Here's a couple examples, from my 200DD.

Stylophora EATING the flesh of a Montipora digitata

Cool pics!

That is cool. Sorry for loss. You think it would kill gsp or xenia? Then you could market it and make some money.

very cool pics! u know its kinda sad to lose a piece to warfare but then its also kinda cool cause u see wat happens in the wild and means ur frags have grown in well or u just have 2 many frags close together!

Yea I have an australian lobo with tentacles that reach an easy 6 to 8 inches I've heard that Vivids Riddler Chalice has long tentacles any other chalices people know about that do the same

I used to have a colony of galaxea that would regularly extend its sweepers 6-8" to sting nearby corals. After it stung a few other corals I quickly gave it away....

I've often woken up to find a web of death over various corals from acan echinatas. They seem to have a very potent sting and don't often lose, so I'm surprised that it lost to a favia!

yeah lol one time my rainbow monti was white like an inch in to the colony and nothing was near it and i looked closer and it was eating itself then next day it was fine! yeah i guess i have an excuse to upgrade! lol

That's a deep tank that would be a bear for ligthing, but other than that it's a pretty sweet footprint!

Yeah it looks cool and its drilled and already drilled for a closed loop im hoping i can get it cause right now im so crowded everything is fighting! U think a 6 bulb nova extreme frixture wat elso should i add to it?

With a 29" width, I'd suspect that you'll need to add quite a few more bulbs if you're keeping SPS. Maybe look into grabbing a second 48" 6 bulb fixture and stacking one in front of the other? If you rose a 6 bulb fixture high enough to get adequate spread on a footprint that large, your PAR would probably be inadeqaute for SPS except for at the very top of the tank

i had a tiny 1/2"x1/2" frag of galaxia and the sweeper tentacles reached almost 4 inches it was trying to reach the hammer coral and the hammer had no defense since it was down stream from the galaxia
