The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

The thing that doesn’t make sense are the fish deaths. Alk swings, Ca off the charts, dropped Mag etc shouldn’t affect the fish at all. Of course there can be several issues going on. Really sucks.
Alk swings typically only affect fish if there's a pH swing with it or if it causes enough coral die-off to create an ammonia or nitrite spike which was my first thought based on the cloudy water.

I assumed it was a pH drop due to the brittle star.
I feel it is something to do with the pH or Oxygen levels.

But there was also the thought of maybe an ammonia spike as I noticed a lot of sand had been moved by the wavemaker. Either way, I’ve got my eye out for another brittle star and wrasse (ill likely go for an Isosceles again but who knows).

Let me see your fish plz

The broomtail is looking pretty good, even with my poor photography and needing to clean the tank.

Also moved the Secretive wrasse (along with a bunch of other fish) into the 240 gallon tonight, and took a quick video. The Hardwick's wrase isn't a big fan of the hawkfish, of all the fish, but should get over it soon enough.

No where are they?
Mesa/Gilbert area. Long drive but when they have sales I've gotten some awesome deals. Picked up a Fiji Foxface for $39, Carpenter Wrasse for $15, almost grabbed a Chrysus for $12... I think my Powder Blue Tang was $39 and a Foxface Lo was $29.

If I get a new tank, I'll just plan a full day trip out to completely stock the tank!

That'd be a bit more than a day trip for you I'm afraid but it might still be worth it!

They had a Hardwicke the other day for $20. I considered it for a couple of minutes.

Will have to put them on my list to visit one day prices sound awesome

How long can a wrasse last under sand? I had to do a big blackout in order to kill off dinos, and my marginatus haven't woke up in two days because it's all dark. I can't find where he sleeps so I just hope she's ok.
