What are some types reef safe wrasse that will play nice with my Tanaka's Pygmy wrasse (possum wrasse) I have a 60 cube

Justin, most fairy and flasher wrasses would do fine. Some small halichoeres genus would as well but pose slightly more risk. In my experience vroliks and melanarus are pretty mellow.

If you're an experienced hobbyist and you have a very well established tank with lots of pods and good water quality, you may try a few leopard wrasses. They're not for beginners though they're very difficult.

So red velvet would be fine?

I would say so. In my experience though fairy wrasses are best purchased in groups. You can mix species and they can even all be males but that first fairy wrasse or flasher wrasse has always struggled by itself with me over the years. When adding more than one initially, other additions are a non issue. Highly anecdotal but I swear by it.

Thinking about adding my first wrasse . Would one of these b ok ? Tanks a 93 cube with 3 fish currently. 2 percula clowns and a small purple tang . Been set up for over a year .

That Lineatus is beautiful! Gonna have to look him up and put him on my fish bucket list! Although, if like to add another wrasse to my tank eventually. But not until I get my CUC situated.

Would a male Melanurus be ok with a Lineatus? Would it be better to get another male or a female? Would they be able to make fish babies? Would it be better to add 2 different kinds of wrasses? What else would you recommend? I love the flame one too. Think he'd work?

These can get large and bossy for a fairy wrasse.

Should be fine.

These can also be aggressive.

These can be kept with a melanurus, though use a social acclimation boxwhen adding a new wrasse to an existing one.

While wrasses may exhibit courtship behavior, they will not successfully reproduce in a display tank.

Whether or notto buy a male or a female depends on males usually have better color but cost more.
