Question:

If I add more sand am I good for a sand sleeper?

Well that was sooo helpful…

Because the two options I was left with were the original 2 options I thought.

And the only photo I have found of both females together.

I’d love to, but oh man, it’s a recipe for a viscous cycle.

1. Have very large tank, become bored, want to downsize and simplify.

2. Downsize, simplify, feel happy with the humbler tank filled with a few of the real favorites.

3. Continue feeling content, but exposure to wrasse photos and other people’s fish begin to make you fill you with desire.

4. Desire creeps further into your mind. Begin “browsing” for large tank on the internet. Begin building list of explanations for why you need a 200g+ system again to the fun police.

5. Relapse. Impulse purchase large tank on a random Tuesday. Spend a while in the dog house, but otherwise feel very happy for a year.

6. Return to Step 1.

I believe I am currently around Step 4 haha

You are missing the obvious answer. Get multiple tanks so you have a big tank with all the fish you want and a smaller more simple tank too. I have a 200+ gallon tank and my girlfriend has 2 smaller waterbox tanks and a little evo. Lol

Splendid getting acclimated.

Too much difference in salinity. Dripping time.

Hope it does well!

I lost mine today. Vendor shipped it with horrible fin rot. Whole tail was basically gone, stump was infected.

I'm a bit worried about the fins on mine as well:

Anything I should do for him? I have some kanaplex on hand.

I'd personally give it 24 hrs to settle in. If it looks worse tomorrow, Kanaplex and Rally Pro imo.

I would just get it in some clean water and watch for now.

Somebody was looking just too good not to snap a quick photo tonight. Besides, it is Wrasse Wednesday after all, so I need to post at least 1 today :)

Hanging out in the observation tank now with the other Splendid. Gave him some extra fake decor. He was listed as medium sized, but I think he's already pretty big.

Can I add a "wrasse tank mate Wednesday" post? Picked up this Damsel looking anthias, and despite everyone telling me the Sunburst's are cryptic, this guy has been out and about the last week. Pretty happy with this guy joining my wrasses! Also he eats like pig, as long as the food is the "right size."

As you can see, in a day I get 1 shot at photographing some of my cryptic species and if I mess it up I have to wait until the next day or add another chunk of algae. My Pink Streaks are arguably so much easier! They just sit and wait until they’re left alone.

Always nice to see that nugget out.

I love her as now she’s more established and happy in the tank she loves to hang within the rockwork so much more.

So far the isosceles has been either hiding under a rock or up in the corner under the return nozzles. Seems to be very very scared. The pencil wrasse seems to be completely ignoring the isosceles though and shows no hints of aggression that I've been able to observe. No damage to fins either, except what was previously there in the isosceles due to fin rot or previous aggression. He is pretty thick, so I'm not yet afraid he'll starve to death. Would be good to see him eating some, though.
