I'm thinking of having more than one Wrasse in my tank, maybe 3. I for sure want a McCoskers. Can I mix with other flashers or do I have to mix it up, say with fairy, Melanurus etc...? Thank-you!

I don't have any right now, but previous ones were a couple years - Fairy Wrasses. I have experienced many times that lone females will become male, not always dominant male though.

Unfortunately my Angular Wrasse jumped a few weeks ago. I have egg crate over my tank but it wasn't enough to keep that guy in.

I recently got a melanurus wrasse and he settled in real quick. Very pretty fish. I did supply some sand for him in my BB tank.

If the head fits, the fish fits.
1/4" clear mesh makes for a nice cover.

I agree on just having multiple males. My exquisite got so much better looking once he got into the 90 with other flashers and fairies. He tries to be the boss of the tank but he's really not what I would call agressive, just assertive. Everyone gets plenty to eat (they're all fat and healthy so I don't worry much) and no one wrasse is overly picked on.

Pete Polyp, there is a really nice blacktail mccosker on divers den right now. Not quite the same coloration as mine, but a real beauty.

He actually posed for this one a while back. I don't have any of him displaying. He's the biggest wrasse in the tank, with the 8-line flasher coming in second. He's an African Exquisite.

Love it! I'm waffling between adding an exquisite or a ruby head fairy wrasse. The other wrasse in the tank will be my McCosker.

I almost got a Mystery Wrasse today but I decided to be more adventurous and got a Meleagris Leopard. The LFS had him quarantined for 2.5 weeks before putting him in general population. They said they've had him out for almost 2 weeks. I hope that means he has a fighting chance (though I'm going to treat the tank with Prazipro.) I'll take some pics of him when she decides to join us on top.

We actually have a cf. cyanopleura and another which I think has some solarensis blood in it and they are fine. Tank size? I added them in one or two at a time with acclimation boxes and it worked like a charm.

We've got th cf version of the Cyanopleura as well. Really pretty active wrasse. I was wanting the regular and not cf version though. Realized that this week. If I can get my hands on the regular Ill be finding a home for this guy.

All my Cirrhilabrus get along most of the time. I've never had any real aggression issues with them, but I think having acclimated them properly has made it a wonderful group to watch, especially toward evening.
