The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Very nice! I don't see any corals. Is it considered reef safe?

No corals just yet. Acquiring the red head and the equipment needed to set up this tank wiped out my savings for a while. I'll start with corals in the spring.

They are coral safe but like eatbreakfast said, some CUC could be on the menu. Mine eats like a pig so I'm hoping that regular feedings of meaty foods will help keep it away from the snails and such.

Mine don't touch my cuc, but it is a risk.

Cool! That may be on my list. I'll have do a little saving up myself.

Well, somehow I fell for a Melanarus. See them all the time and never paid attention until this one. Very inquisitive, beautiful (of course), acclimated very easily, and my Potters didn't give him any trouble.

I like flashers the most, fell in love with my first McCosker's. But Fairys are starting to grow on me. BiPartus too. Then the Halichoeres of course for their inquisitive nature.

Ok guys, can someone id this fairy wrasse please. Im pretty sure its a blue sided but not 100 percent sure

I absolutely love my melanurus. Great personality.

Hello wrasse lovers!! I'm in the planning stages of an 80gal mixed reef heavy on the SPS. I'm beginning to think about live stock. I originally was thinking about going with like 6 anthias of some kind. However after looking through some of this thread there are really beautiful wrasse selections that look like they do well with SPS. So here you go stock my tank. Dimensions 30x24x24, 40 gal refugium, 30gal sump.
