Newest addition, I wanted to try another halichoeres after my ornate went postal and tried to kill every other wrasse in the tank.

Two newest Wrasses in QT:

Female M. bipartitus

Juvenile H. iridis

They spend most of the day swimming together:

Been just over a week now, and both are finally almost on EST. When I first introduced them, they were up all night and asleep by noon. Now they are up until 5-6PM

My H. iridis is super chill which I love. I wanted a M. bipartitus but im officially out of room :-(

Amazing how fast you can stock a 125 huh?!

Did a lot of research before getting the H. iridis. Everyone said the same, very peaceful fish. Although apparently LA and fishbase.org have their max size wrong. Seems they can get up to 7-8" in the wild, and 6"+ captive.

M. bipartitus has been easy so far; ate Mysis day after introduction.

both my leopards ate pellets day one, one of my favorite genus i'm glad i got lucky with easy ones..

I know you have an M. ornatus, what else do you have? Mine won't touch pellets yet, but does eat freeze dried Mysis and Krill, so I am thinking it will only be a matter of time.

Just curious as to what your quarentine measures are for
wrasse since most need sand. That and ive heard mixed reports about medication not doing well with them

Not sure if you are referring to me or not, but I'll assume you are. Only certain species of Wrasses need sand, i.e. Macropharyngodon, Halichoeres, Pseudojuloides, etc. For the two I posted above, they are in a 46 QT that has been setup for almost two years. It has a 1.5" sandbed, about 60 lbs. of rock, power heads, skimmer, UV, carbon reactor, HOB 'fuge. Basically a sumpless DT. This is the tank I QT most of my fish in. The only medication I dose in it is Prazipro, which I do two doses of for every fish. Otherwise, I have used a 10 gal & a 55 gal to QT other fish. Both barebottom and more of your typical QT setup. Though you could use the same simple setup with just a container of sand for sand-dwelling wrasses, though Leopards may not do well in this environment for too long as they hunt for pods all day normally and can be tough to meet their needs with feedings.

I have a M geoffory too I have used a small tupperware for sand dwelling wrasse in the past in QT and acclimation boxes with great success.[FONT=arial, sans-serif] [/FONT]

As far as meds go with wrasses, they do fine with them for the most part. When using copper they have a hard time when directions on the package are followed but do just fine when you slow the process way down and add the copper slowly.
