Ok, I’ll give it a try. Is there a better wrasse than a six line for pest control?

I'm far from an expert but I do know my sixline is the only fish I wish I'd left at the lfs because he is an absolute tool. Has harassed every fish either to death or the point where I've had to remove them and then tried his luck... (and still does 18 months later) with my Frostbite clowns who are feisty themselves but he still doesn't ease up on them. Beautiful fish in his own right but I wouldn't advise one if you plan on ANY other wrasses... or fish in general in my ones case. He doesnt bother my kole tang though.

I have a wetmorella tanaki and he's constantly picking at the rocks and glass. He's super timid and a lot of fun to watch. My tank is fairly new and I don't have any real pests but I've heard they are decent at pest control (not amazing at it but not bad either). I'm sure some research will give more info

I thought I would show an updated picture of my tank inhabitants. My current passion is Wrasses first and Anthias second. In the picture two of my Evansi were off romancing each other I guess. My Blue Streak cleaner wrasses and my male Cirrhilabrus lunatus is off doing something. I was worried because of their size, but my two males the Paracheilinus Attenuatus and the Lunatus are the two smallest wrasses in the tank. But the fend for themselves and are doing quite well for 2” fish among all the larger ones.

"Tool" is a great word for a Six Line......I had one for three years....he was great....then one day he snapped and relentlessly attacked my leopards and any new fish no matter the size or species I would add. He was too smart for a fish trap too. I had to remove half of my live rock and net him out. Took him to the LFS ASAP. A total PITA! Just my experience with the little devils.

That is the next Wrasse I want to add. I have my LFS on the lookout for one!

"Tool" is a great word for a Six Line......I had one for three years....he was great....then one day he snapped and relentlessly attacked my leopards and any new fish no matter the size or species I would add. He was too smart for a fish trap too. I had to remove half of my live rock and net him out. Took him to the LFS ASAP. A total PITA! Just my experience with the little devils.

Yep sounds like mine and so so smart. My rock was the first thing in the tank, then sand so I would literally have to tear the tank down to catch him so...... My plan is to drain the tank of all its water until he has nowhere to go. The corals will be ok out of water for a few minutes while I catch the "tool" [emoji2] My kole tang has outgrown the tank too so I'll get him while I'm at it (tried several times and failed every time lol).

Yes that is true and the Rubrimarginatus and Lineatus will not tolerate each other so they will have to wait until I upgrade my system. The pic of wanted list was taken a few days before my tank decided to split a seal at 3 am and I actually had a sandbed. Lol. [emoji106] [emoji106]

A snail or something must have nudged my Moyer's. He poked out with a dissatisfied look and chose a different place to dive for the night. I absolutely enjoy the Macropharyngodon genus.

I have kept both together without problems but it was a 72x24 tank. They were both about 5"

Ah cool. I was under the impression the just would not play nice together and seeing as the largest tank I can fit (atm) is a 60 x 24, I'll hold off on taking the risk. I don't have the Lineatus yet but the Rubrimarginatus is almost 4inches

Love that pic! Both of my Moyers are sneaky.....they wait until no one is looking and then hit the sand....lol....my Red Coris is the only Wrasse I see dive into the sand at night. That's because he makes a big production (and mess) out of it! Here he us sleeping....lol...
