Here are my 3. I’ve had the flasher wrasse for about 3 months. Just added the Leopard and Orangeback

I was shopping around for another wrasse to go with my 3 meleagris wrasses and my potters wrasse and was looking at either a Moyeri or a Kuiteri.
I need to change up the dynamics a little. The potters wrasse has gotten more aggressive with the other wrasses since my melenarus died. He used to keep everybody in check.
I'd like to find a red tail tamarin wrasse but they are hard to find.
Any thoughts?

Well I may have found a small Yellow Tail Tamarin and was wondering how it will be with multiple leopard wrasses.
One geoffroyi and several meleagris.

Depends one what you like. I don’t see any sand in your tank so you may have to stay away from the ones who like to bury themselfs

Since the potters is already a bully, it may bully the tamarin a little, but otherwise should be fine.

Yes and he has had no issues with the new rhomboid. I did use an acclimation box for a day and released him just before lights off. On the other hand my pintail has been “flashing” hard at the little rhomboid, nothing concerning; it’s nice to see his full colors on display.

Good to hear on the Rhomboid.

Yeah, all mine strut their stuff at one another before lights out. Its fun to watch all the color changes.

I got a Madagascar Vivien’s Wrasse on Monday, I picked it up from a LFS. They said it was eating, but I met them halfway and did not see it actually eat. I am starting to get really worried now as it has been multiple days now that it has not eaten. It is in a big acclimation box in my display tank so it is separated from all the other fish and has no aggression which makes me even more nervous. I have tried frozen foods (brine, mysis, fish eggs, krill, clams) flakes and pellets.

What do you guys suggest I do? It swims around fine but I am just worried as I have never had a wrasse go this long without eating a thing.

If you can’t put it in QT tank to condition It to eat frozen or dried I would try live food. Or if no aggression I would release into the DT so it can hunt for live food. Over time it may start to eat frozen and learn from your other fish. It’s been 3 days so I would not be overly concerned as It may be somewhat stressed.

I usually use freshly hatched brine shrimp to get picky wrasses eating. Another food that I find very effective is Fauna Marin Ocean Plankton.

My DT is 180g.


I dont have a QT setup but it is in a 12x12 box (around 6 gallons) in my DT with a thin layer of sand on the bottom. There will most likely be some aggression once I release it into the DT which is why I wanted to make sure it was eating great before doing that. As I have a yellow tail tamarin, black leopard wrasse, pretty large regular leopard wrasse, 2 yellow wrasse, large flame wrasse, large moyeri wrasse. As of now they are not paying any attention to the new vivien in the acclimation box but I am sure they will when I release it which is why again I wanted to make sure it was eating great, including frozen food.

What live food would you try? I am not sure what my LFS has but I will check later today.
