Lol I'm looking at this and wondering which one mine is.I personally enjoy the African Exquisite Wrasses however I prefer the Vanuatu variants as they have the nice yellow dorsal and anal fins. As for the Labridae confusion here’s a break down of the family;
You have the main family that covers everything Wrasses, Hogfish, Parrotfish.
Then that main family is split into 2 subfamilies, Bodianidae and Scaridae which hold the Hogfish and Parrotfish.
Then these 3 (sub)families are split into several genera depending on the family and we tend to easily identify which subfamily has which fish from the names we give them;
Parrotfish = Scaridae
Hogfish = Bodianidae
Wrasses = Labridae
