Showing the difference between peaceful and aggressive wrasse...(ignore the algae I did say I might need a tang)


So I think I have 16 wrasse and 11 genera.

It's so cute! Also its a lot more vibrant then my last one I think. The last one was pretty gray but this one is pitch black.

Six Line can get bristle worm/fireworm? I know they can usually eat flatworms...

Dragon wrasse is the only fish I've seen actively hunt and eat fire worms. I suspect a Thalassoma would also eat them and perhaps puffers and triggers.

I would love to get a Melanurus also... but will have to get happy with Pink-Streaked (Pseudocheilinops ataenia) and Possum Wrasse (Wetmorella nigropinnata) - If I can find them in Brazil... want to add them together in the tank

Not sure this is the place to put this, but thought I'd add something I've began to start witnessing just recently;

So I'm not sure if it's been mentioned in the past, but I've started to notice my six line wrasse cleaning other fish in my tank, but more commonly my lyertail anthius. I know it isn't aggression because the anthius sets up and let's him go at it a couple seconds at a time. Just found that interesting considering the bad rep they tend to get more often then not when doing research into them.

I know it isn't aggression because the anthius sets up and let's him go at it a couple seconds at a time. Just found that interesting considering the bad rep they tend to get more often then not when doing research into them.

Yep. Many wrasse do that and Pseudocheilinus are one of the more common. Actually saw my Bodianus anthiodes do that just today on my butterfly.

Yep. Many wrasse do that and Pseudocheilinus are one of the more common. Actually saw my Bodianus anthiodes do that just today on my butterfly.

That lyretail hogfish is beautiful!
