That's unfortunate, would this wrasse hypothetically be more accepting of other pink streaked wrasse given how it has previously cohabitiated with others?

I'm also wondering how to go about sexing my pink streaked wrasse?
I would like to move my pink streaked wrasse to a nano eventually, and it would be nice to do something of a species-only setup with a trio.
If this is possible to achieve with a mature pink streaked and a couple juvenile ones, any information from your experiences with multiples would be great.

The best way to sex these guys is mostly in the face and tail.
Males have a significantly brighter blue face on them, I’ve also noticed the green in the tail is much more obvious.
There are smaller less obvious ways of sexing them, which is mainly through the yellow striping being more dominant.
Here’s a male I’ve had against a female from the trio.

In theory, yes my pink streak would be more accepting of other pink streaks. However, in practice it’s not always that way. Overall as this species is much more peaceful than other wrasses, I’d expect even specimens that were kept alone to accept another younger female quite easily. A species setup was my original plan with my SPS system as I do like to see their behaviours if they were wild however I also love having other fish to watch them interact with eachother.

Sexing is difficult, especially when they are small. It’s hard to explain, but it becomes a “I know it when I see it” type of situation once you’ve seen a couple of comparisons.

I’d say the “easiest” ways to tell are:

1. Color. Males are much brighter. This is best seen when looking at a few of them together or side by side. The males will be clearly brighter than the females.
2. More blueing and silvering on the cheeks.
3. The dark blue eye liner underneath the eye running to the bottom part of their mouth is much more dark and pronounced on males.

LFS has a female crescent tail. I had no idea that they had her, and evidently she’s been there since August.

They said they’d sell her to me cheap, and I’m really undecided but don’t know if I can just leave her there. Crescent tails are beautiful when they are grown, but I worry about her fitting in with my rhomboid, pintail, exquisite. Also, I’ve said it in the past however it seems my Jade is coming to the end of his time with me. He is likely to be traded in soon as I believe he was becoming quite nasty towards my angels (I’ve seen him brawl with my Tongan Black Foxface) and may have been the result of my Navarchus and Coral Beauty’s deaths. He has been fairly boisterous towards my wrasses and it hasn’t really been settling down much.

You just need a bigger tank. Then you could go to Hawaii and grab a Coris venusta. Easy peasy

5’ tank is in the future, but even then I feel that Jade would find a way to be mean.

Coris venusta is a need if Hawaii opens again. Maybe I’ll get an Anampses to replace the Jade, just a question of which one

Only if you have let say 100 of each, and or more Yellow Tangs, Potters Wrasses, Hawaiian Clearer Wrasses and Potters angelfish to name a few, you should be ok
