how do you guys keep them from fighting..my flasher acts fine w/ my red solon for a few days then always starts chasing him around until it hops in the overflow?

I feed almost constantly, for the last few days I have fed my main tank 8-10 times. I try to feed my fish every 2 hours.

like someone else commented, feed plenty, enough to where no one feels they have to compete for food. Have enough rockwork with spots to sleep.

And sometimes they just show their wrAsses and putting a mirror up will make them direct their angst towards their own reflection instead of others.

Yup maybe a bird wrasse and a fairy and more in a waterbox MARINE X 90.3

I wouldn’t do a bird wrasse in a 3-4’ tank as it would restrict you on other wrasses.
Do you plan for tangs? If so then it’ll restrict you further unless you add them at the very end.

As for a light, it depends if you plan for coral. I personally love my Radions.

No tangs that’s for my 700l plywood tank I built years ago

Any other wrasse would u suggest that would fit the size i’ve only ever kept a midis wrasse before so I’m low on experience with this sort of species

For a 3 foot tank (like mine), you might go for one leopard wrasse, one Halichoeres wrasse on the smaller side (e.g., H. chrysus, H. leucoxanthus, H. claudia, H. biocellatus, or maybe H. cosmetus), a pair of pink streak wrasses or a possum wrasse, and maybe a few of the smaller Cirrhilabrus fairies (e.g., C. lubbocki, C. isosceles, C. brunneus,... maybe C. exquisitus, or C. rubeus).

I don't know if a Carpenter or McCosker flasher wrasse would do well enough in a 3' tank. No experience with flashers.

This will likely what I go for then thanks for the stocking list I might change it a bit to suit but otherwise excellent I will do more research on the specific ones like pink streaks and mccosker

Flashers like Carpenter/mccosker would do just fine. Very similar to most cirrhilabrus in size and temperament. Maybe a bit more shy and skiddish.(other than with eachother) My experience Its the grumpy Halichoeres that always push weight around in my tanks.

Honestly, I somewhat disagree with this. I’ve been watching my 4 flashers swimming round my 5’ tank and I wouldn’t go for a tank any less than 4 feet in length for these guys unless the rock scape is designed for them with plenty of dart holes to swim though.

A pair of pink streaks are just delightful fish for you tank, but the tank needs to be extremely peaceful. My leopard and H. chrysus are very chill (knock on driftwood). And the blenny and firefish don't bother anyone, so the two pinkies are happy to go about without fear. @jkcoral also has a pair, and I think @i cant think has even had a trio.

Leopards are also just the best fish ever. Mine is like a puppy dog. The mean clowns never messed with her--I think she just showed them her throat teeth once and they were like "we cool".

This was my worry with a Carpenter and why I scratched it from the list. My scape is made specifically for fish to dart around and hide, but 3ft for a zoomy fish gave me too much doubt.

I love the nock on driftwood I started fresh water so I’m familiar with wood

But yes some pinkies sounds like a plan but which other smaller wrasse should be on the list other than leopards
