The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

See!! That’s why I will continue to be so annoying about correcting the “yellow coris wrasse” plague!!
Yes, I'm returning to the hobby so am not up to date on scientific names so when he described the yellow wrasse I was like oh yeah I love those dudes, sign me up for this one.

But then I saw a thread on the yellow wrasse and what coris actually are and got worried lol

Question all. Currently have a small radiant and medium size leopard and I have the itch for another wrasse.

I’m really drawn to the mystery wrasse but I realize they can be aggressive. Would this work with my current two?

If not, what about a pink margin fairy (or pair of them)

Display is 4ftx2ft

Members of the lined wrasse like the mystery don’t do well with other wrasse. A fairy wrasse is certainly a better bet though the pink margin is quite large. See chart below for my suggestions.

Thanks Slocke. I’ll give those other ones a look. Between the clowns, flameback angel, radiant wrasse I have lots of yellow and orange in the tank, so I’m looking for some pink or blue. Any other cool wrasses I’m not thinking of that would work?

How about a Laboute’s fairy?

Everything is so washed out blue… is there any sort of filter I can use on my iPhone to battle that?
I honestly set my lights to almost halide lighting for a long period in the day because of that.
I get photos like this because of that.

Well, I was in the water for about an hour this morning and I saw what I believe we're a Surge Wrasse and a possibly an Elegant Coris Wrasse. Beautiful fishes! Unfortunately the phone I was using for pictures didn't keep the pics I took...
