The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Yes, young ones need those pods.

If you are set on a pr. I have heard of more success stories in getting two females and letting them decide which will transition to male.
Agree with both points.

For sometime now with my experience each has its own symbiotic relationship with the others while one flashes at the other another one runs and hides. My scotts seems to be one of the kingpins in the tank and my Rhomboid likes to disappear.
Disappearing is a sign of impending doom. Wrasses bullied into constant hiding will not survive. This is also why Scott's is a risky choice when mixing wrasses.

my Lubbocks did not like eachother at first and chased one another around like cats and dogs I thought day one i was gonna go to bed and wake up to a carcase.
Sounds like you may have two males.

however since the addition of the purple tang they all seem to go after the seaweed clip now which i find strange anyone else experience this with their wrasses?
Most of mine will eat nori as well.

This is my first wrasse. Sold to me as a Red Fairy Wrasse any tips on what he actually is?

My new baby always wanted one.

Got these two today. Wife couldn't pass up the Lubbock and we went solely for the male solenersis to go with our female. Lol. Kid in a candy shop. Already eating and coloring up nicely.

About 6 months ago I placed a super male Flame wrasse and a flame female in my tank.Sadly, the male went carpet surfing about 3 months ago.I want to replace him with another super male, but I think my female may be turning to sub male status.I don't want a big cage match fight in my tank, what do you guys think?

I can't tell for sure from your pictures whether yours is transitioning or not yet, however it will either way. I would not add another male. Just let the one you have turn terminal male IMO.

Nice fish and tank!
