The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

I doubt it the male rubrimarginatus's instantly became boss of the tank and looked very good initially to just dies suddenly in the night, the female was never messed with either and I watched the pair very carefully throughout the day to make sure and never saw any signs of aggression towards them.
Fish in the tank areas follows:
Eightline flasher female
Line spot flasher
Royal flasher
Potters leopard
& a bristle tail filefish

H. biocellatus, more often called the "Red Lined Wrasse", but some also call it a Christmas wrasse.

Thanks. The Lineatus is an awesome looking fish and gets along well with everyone. My purple tang has grown pretty large, he's going in a friends larger reef soon. I'll probably add a rhomboid wrasse after the tang is gone.

I LOVE WRASSES!! Seriously flasher type wrasses as well as solar and leopard are my favorite and they make such interesting inhabitants for any reef tank and once they're acclimated they tend to stay out in the open so that you can enjoy the beauty all the time
The only wrasse that I do not like is the lunar wrasse because I've needed stitches to many times to count while cleaning tanks or having my fingers dangle over the edge of a tank with one in it while talking to a customer only to have one of those little peckers come up and take a chunk of flesh of my finger tip
The only time I've ever been bit by anything worse was when I was bit by a large "13" plus "golden guinea fowl puffer that literally took the entire end of my middle finger off down to the bone and I had to scoop my finger tip of of the tank with a net and go to the hospital to have it sewn back on...

Beautiful wrasses Jackson! I think I saw a C. laboutei, C. jordani and C. bathyphilus in there? Do those get along? I would love all three but was a little afraid they might not get along.

Thanks! They all get along but I recently added the laboutei. We'll see how it works out. So far no problems.

Very late to reply, but I have had all three of these in my 125 for about a year now. C. laboutei are known to be the most aggressive of that group, though mine is pretty good. Him and my C. bathyphilus go after each other every now and then, but that's it.

Good to know. I still have zero aggression. I'm feeding 3-4 times daily when I'm hope. Keeping them all fat and happy.

Amazing tank Jackson6745!! I love the colors and heavy fish stock. What size tank is that?

I just ordered a hooded Wrasse and linespot flasher wrasse that came in from LA today. They're in an acclimation box so my whipfin and leopard wrasse can get use to them. Ill post pics as soon as I can. I love this thread!!!

New additions from LA: A very nosey a female Hooded Fairy Wrasse and a Male Linespot flasher Wrasse.

My new addition to my 150g reef. Very nice little fish,,, anything i should know about them?? I hear that mystery wrasses aren't so reef safe? True or false????
