What is that box where the return pipes are ?

It is an acclimation box, it allows a few days for the old fish to see the new fish without harassing or chasing the newcomer. The pvc is just a loose fitting put in the box so the new fish can hide.

The one with the spotted face is a male Anampses chrysocephalus, or psych head wrasse.

Is C. laboutei “Labout’s Fairy" peaceful, or more on the agressive side? Will they mix well with a M. ornatus “Ornate Leopard Wrasse”? I have a 120 tank. What other fairy wrasse could you put them with?

In the middle, or slightly to the aggressive side for a fairy wrasse, but it's aggression wouldd be focused on other fairy and flasher wrasses, so the M. ornatus should be just fine.

Most fairy and flasher wrasses could be kept with one as well if a social acclimation box is utilized when introducing new wrasses to established ones.

In the middle, or slightly to the aggressive side for a fairy wrasse, but it's aggression wouldd be focused on other fairy and flasher wrasses, so the M. ornatus should be just fine.

Most fairy and flasher wrasses could be kept with one as well if a social acclimation box is utilized when introducing new wrasses to established ones.

I have a Melanuris Wrass that has been in my tank for roughly 4 months. Yesterday, I purchased a beautiful Solar Wrass. I was told by the store that they would be fine together. At this point, they're not fine. The Melanuris is on full offensive and making life difficult on the Solar. Is this normal behavior. Do I need to remove it now or should I wait and see?

Sourcing true female solorensis is difficult. Usually it is a male of another closely related species that is misidentified.

Wrasses don't form bonded prs that many other types of fish form, rather their gender is determined by hierarchical roles. A dominant male chases and displays to females. If they aren't harassed enough a female will transition to male. Skip getting prs and just get males of different species.

In most cases it should be fine, bur sometimes an established melanurus can get a bit ornery to new wrasse additions.

If you are able to catch one out and utilize a social acclimation box, this often lowers aggression to manageable levels.

Ok big ? For the wrasse KINGS I would like to add some more wrasses to my main DT I currently have four in there melanurus, green coris, Formosa and a eight line. What others if any can I add ?(acc box will be used)

By eight line is it the Paracheilinus or the Pseudocheilinus? The green coris may pose a problem but may not. I haven't had a problem with formosas with other wrasses, except with other true coris species, but that was when both were going through a transition, adults have been fine.

Larger Cirrhilabrus, Halichoeres, even well conditioned Macropharyngodon species should all be fine as long as the acclimation box is used.

Any up close pics?

So we went away for 2 days to visit my family, drove back through, stopped in and fed then drove to the beach to visit my partners parents and just got home. I noticed that she had a bit of black on the tail Friday and what a transition when we got back today. Pardon the crap pic. He/she is a real pain to photograph. Runs to beg at the glass any time you're around but doesn't sit still ever.
