The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

I just received a Mcckoskers which was overnighted, i got him into QT but he isn't moving at all. He is alive or was when i put him in the tank, but i am concerned since he isn't moving at all. Any advice or suggestions?

If the gills are moving, you have life.

Leave him be and make sure there's a place for him to hide. Turning the lights off or keeping the tank in a dim area can help.

I can't see him well enough to see the gills, but he did move a couple times earlier.
I unpacked in a room with no lights on and only sunlight through blinds, as dim as i could make it. I have a towel over half the tank now on the side the window is on to keep the light low.
I have a pvc connector in there but he is just sitting in the corner.

Mine did that when I first put him in QT, but he quickly perked up once I fed and appears very healthy now. I would leave him alone for a few hours, then feed a little.

Excellent advice!
I bought some ROE i will give a little to him later and see how it goes.
The ROE worked great for the wrasse! He wasn't so fond of the pellets and acted like they weren't even there, but went nuts with the ROE.
