The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Haven't been able to get pics of them yet but just added 2 Ornate Leopard wrasses. The male is awesome. Love these fish! Pictures to follow as soon as I can catch them in the camera frame. Just added so they're camera shy:rolleyes:

Hi TJ. with all due respect, I beg to differ. Females are indeed red... Have two of them as well. This is indeed a male lap and was imported to HK with 10 other males and females. The markings are actually different from a cloud and the teeth are that of a macropharyngodon.
Cool, I'm glad it got figured out.

Technically, lapllus is still classified as a Halichoeres species, even though it's body and behavior clearly belong with the genus Macropharyngodon. However, the key features for Macropharyngodon species are the teeth in their throat, in fact that is what Macropharyngodon translates to, Large throat teeth. However, these particular teeth can't be seen except through dissection. Those aren't the only teeth that Macropharyngodon have. Like many other wrasses, including Halichoeres, leopards have teeth at the anterior of their mouth.

A few more, he has a nice blue/green belly. His colors are amazing, the details on the scales ect,

I am Qt this fish, I usually don't treat with prazi or copper unless they show symptoms but he was from petco, so I feel he must have something. He is eating fine and his feces looks good, no stringiness. What would you guys do; Just observe him for 4 weeks?
