The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Excellent, do you Qt your leopards or right into the DT? I have had only good luck with potters straight into the DT, even though my Qt has sand and a piece or two of live rock something about QT stresses them out for me.

I am considering getting another potters and a black leopard (photos rarely do them justice.

What is this??!?

Decided on this group:
Flame Wrasse, Hooded Wrasse, Balteatus Wrasse, Rhomboid Wrasse, and Royal Flasher Wrasse

any issues you guys think? the balteatus is the one i worry about the most

tank size?
nothing about the combination in an inherent problem though

You'll be fine. Use an acclimation box if adding any of them later.
they'll be all female preferably and all at once ideally. need to modify a net for them though, some people have had luck with the RSM650 not needing a net but i rather be safe than sorry when it comes to 500 dollars of fishhaha.

ideally i want to add a naoko, but i cant find one thats a female

This little one came from half way around the world. With a couple of important stops along the way to make it to my home.

What is this wrasse. I have been drooling over this picture. I really really want him. How much was he and where did you get him. Thanks Mike

Oh boy was picking out some asteria starfish off my rocks and I heard a flapping noise. So I took a quick glance and a count of fish and of course the most important/rare one isn't out so I'm worried. Freaking out i look behind the tank on the side I was on and nothing there so I'm ok. But looked on the other side just to be sure. Wow!!! Just in time. My EARL wrasse is laying on the carpet...what the heck hope he pulls thru. He swam to the bottom into the rocks

This is a Macropharyngodon/Halichoeres lapilus.
Where did you purchase from? How much if you don't mine me asking.
NY Aquatic gets diamondtails fairly regularly, supposedly in the next week. If I remember correctly they are around $300 from there.

I just introduced a Kole Tang to my tank and my McCkoskers is now in hiding. Is it normal for them to be timid when a new fish is introduced, or do i need to already start watching for aggression?
