The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

My new C. lubbocki in social quarantine. The C. rubripinnis seems pretty interested in it.

Hey all you wrasse lovers!

I have a 100g reef. Currently, I have 1 female (questionable now) golden rhomboid wrasse. I have a red velvet wrasse in QT who is about finished with the process. Both are similar in size and I do plan to place him in an acclimation box and see how they interact for a week or so. He will be added with 7 other fish who have been through the copper treatment as well, I'm hoping this works to my advantage.

Any thoughts or experience on whether thsee two will be compatible? I'd love to add a blue star or radiant down the road but I'm not sure if that'd be overkill.

Any typical compatibility issues with C. lubbocki and C. rubripinnis? They are both the same size, males. I have the lubbocki in social quarantine, the rubripinnis seems interested. He's not thrashing at him or anything but I can tell he wants in the box.

I found that any time I have tried c.lubbocki the other wrasses really goes after them. I have not tried in a while but all pass attempts they where bullied very bad.

I went ahead with releasing the lubbocki today. I think the red fin just wanted the pellets that where trapped in the corner of the social acclimation box. Lol. Everyone is playing nice. Here is a LQ cell video of him after being added to DT.

Sometimes, though, tomini tangs will behave aggressively toward wrasses. That is not usually the case, but has been something I have observed on occasion.[/QUOTE]

This was such the case when I added my tomini tang to my wrasse dominant reef tank last year. I had to find him a new home.
