The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

My package came with my 3 Macropharyngodon bipartitus wrasses.
I met the UPS guy in my driveway. He came walking up carrying the box under his arm, and just before he got to me he grabbed the box and spun it between his fingers and handed it to me upside down. God,, sometimes I hate those guys.
That is both sad and hilarious considering the leopard's delicate nature and how clueless ups drivers can be. Now watch, all three of them will be perfectly fine.

Sadly, one spin upside down is the least turbulent the whole journey is, going through sorting facilities and being offloaded into trucks.

yeah, I know but it just the sight of it, knowing what's inside that makes you wonder, what the heck were they thinking?

Yeah, but it was spinning the box between his fingers that got me. Like he was being extra fancy, stylish in the way he handed the box over.
Oh well, the fish are in a dark quarantine tank. 2 are swimming around in a cave, one is laying on his side.
Hope she is just sleepy.
I'm thinking maybe turning on one bulb later this afternoon and adding some tigger pods, see if they respond.

What kind of wrasses are these??

Anampses femininus.
Yep. Unfortunately lost both of them and yesterday lost my original one which was Turning into a male approx 6 yrs old. Went three days not feeding cause of my daughter graduation and came home he was very skinny around the head. Maybe parasitic. It was sad but nothing last forever. The problem is they are hard fish to get them going in a tank.

No problem, in fact it's recommended. Just wait to treat until it is eating readily, as prazi can inhibit appetite.
All 3 were eating good.
Added Prazipro this morning. The recommended dose is a little less than 1-1/2 teaspoons for a 29 gallon tank. I used 1-1/4 teaspoons. Added the PP to a gallon of tank water and slowly added it over about 5 minutes. One disappeared into the sand immediately, the second one after lunch, and found another dead in the corner.
I haven't dug around in the sand, but I can see a shadow on the side of the container with the sand, in the shape and size of one of them.

That shouldn't have been caused by the prazipro. The only way that would have been an issue is if the gills were completely covered in flukes and when they died left the gills too damaged, but that's rare.

I was killing some Palys last weekend with Aiptasia-X, and my Naoko took a big mouthful. The next day he was curled up in the rockwork, breathing heavy. The following day he was dead. Anybody ever hear of Aiptasia-X killing fish?

It's pretty caustic, but it could also have been the palytoxin from irritated paly, it's quite toxic.

I really didn't see any problems with any of the wrasses.
And, just a few minutes ago one popped out of the sand.
But I can still see the shadow of one on the side of the sand dish.
Was thinking about disturbing the sand and see if she is alive.
Would that be a bad idea?
