Theiling Rollermat.

It's such a shame it's a massive product making it too big to fit under our tank stands mostly because of it's height. Another drawback is the enormous price tag for what is mostly plastic, a small motor and a float switch. Sure R&D cost is in there but IMO they are making a killing off of it, actually surprised no one has cloned it yet and sold it less than half price and made a killing themselves.

Anyone know if Theiling are planning a smaller version?

I have liked the idea of the Theiling Rollermat since I first heard about it and would seriously consider a smaller version. Space is very limited under my 75 gallon and the way the plumbing is set up it's not easy to reach back and change filter socks. Plus, I've been known to forget to do it occasionally. I wish there was a small version I could fit under my stand.

There's a lot of people making their own versions for about 150. As for me. I bought mine from brs when they had a sale. Wasn't too awful. As for the height. I set mine on a stand in the sump. Worked out great.

I can make any size to fit your sump, i am now in the works of making these full time. algae scrubbers are incorporated also ,Ray.
