Looks like tisbe. That cyano will snuff them and the coralline out. The algae wafer that's decaying against the glass I used a while back, they fuel cyno so bad its unbelievable. I tried them on several occasions inorder to feed some emeralds. I will never again. Switch over to a few ounces of sea lettuce and they will love it and dose phytoplankton....but what type? I had no idea tisbe pods grew so large, I thought they only grew to the size of the small white dots crawling over the glass. I bought the tisbe from a local supplier (ZM Systems) who imported them from Algae Barn, so they've had a trip over the Atlantic.Looks like tisbe. That cyano will snuff them and the coralline out. Good idea, nothing eats itGet rid of that bubble algae

I'm not sure. Nori does break down in the water and kind of just fluff up if not being hit with flow, it may be a great alternative. I haven't seen it mold over like the wafer does. If you leave one undisturbed for a day or 2 it becomes a white bacterial mass of mold. Nori doesn't do that. Next time you vacuum it out I'd dose some waste away or refresh. Can't hurt to add something that outcompetes it.I had no idea tisbe pods grew so large, I thought they only grew to the size of the small white dots crawling over the glass. The cyano only grows on the substrate in the lee of a big rock out of shot to the right. It's been there for six months and doesn't seem to bother anything; I vacuum it out during the weekly water change. Thanks for the tip on algae wafers, would nori be OK? I already add phyto.
