There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive.

Apologies for the blue photo--didn't have my filter handy and wanted a quick shot. For reference, the skeleton that is all brown is circled in red, and the new tissue that I just noticed today is in green. It has been a seemingly dead skeleton for several months now.

Slightly better photo of the acan after resurrecting itself. Snail is covering most of the skeleton. Amazing that this came out of practically nothing. Only reason I didn't remove the skeleton was that it's not easy to grab.

I've been trying chalices recently, the first one was a fresh cut with about three eyes. It didn't do well but one eye was still hanging on. I remounted it and the eye has been looking very healthy but not doubled yet. A recently purchased chalice, did the same thing although it was a sizable 2 inch established disk. It started to look sad recently so I refragged the better looking parts.

I have a cyphastrea that resurrected from a tiny piece of tissue and spread back to its original size.
