I like PNS Probio. Smells to high heavens. Used it during Flucanozole treatment along with a bunch of other "life support" interventions (dosing fiji mud, air stone in the back, consultation with spirit animal...). No idea if it helped really, but didn't lose a coral during 6 weeks of Flux.

I just put some eggs in the aerated water. Guess we’ll see tomorrow evening

You are right about the smell at least. dang there is a lot of sulfur in that bottle.

I got the Purple Sulfur bacteria... I forget which one it was but the one I got was supposed to populate the sand bed.

Stunk, but it seemed to work decent for a tank starter.

Woke up to hearing a weird sound. One of my power heads was being loud so I went to take it out. Dumb @&$% Foxface freaked out and jumped into my hand. I got stung. @&$%#*^ fish then jumped again while I was cleaning the sting and I had to save it from the floor. What a mess.

HOT WATER ON WOUND NOW...
Keep running hot water for about 20min...
AS hot as you can tolerate it, but not to the point where your getting 1st degree burns.

If you find yourself having problems breathing... 911 ASAP.
If the wound site gets swollen and like double in size 911 ASAP.

Get a bottle of benydryl nearby incase you get a allergic reaction, this will buy you some time til the paramedics can come if it gets there.

You can safely take up to 3x the normal dosage for extreme cases while your paramedics come.

Seems like the adults know only to dish out just enough, while the juvi's go full boat.

Interesting. From what I know it is about force. The more force the more venom is in the sting. That is why stonefish are usually the most deadly. Same venom (approximately) but because they are stepped on more venom is injected. Maybe because juveniles are more likely to freak they sting harder?


I am not in any pain but I do have a lot adrenaline. If I come off as giddy it’s because I am. (Not sure what the definition of giddy is but it sounds right)

According to the few i know that has been stung by lionfishes and foxface, they said the juvi's made them cry, while the adults made them panic.

My sample set is probably about 6 or so people tho...
But all 6 said the above.
The last thing you want to get stung by is a juvi.

Interesting. I am in practically no pain but I immediately rinsed it with hot water and am now in my hot tub. My fox is like 4-5in so more an adult then juvenile.

Foxface looks fine too. Quite the fall onto a tile floor so must have hurt.

It’s shocking what people have posted here rather than calling 911. Fish stings, palytoxin, even had a guy who was convinced he was going to die after he hurt his hand on his pufferfish.

Ooo ouch. Going to suck for a few days where you got stung. I got a bad headache for a few hours after. But if you have any breathing issues at all call 911 for sure. Dont wait and see if it goes away, made that mistake the first time my lion stung me and the doctor said I almost died! Scary. Keep an eye on it!

I think I got lucky. Had some initial pain but now I’m fine. Must not have gotten into my bloodstream.

Oh good Im glad! That crap is not pleasant. Im also glad the fox was okay too! Those fish are crazy lol
