Yeah and my corals are far higher then average anyway

March-April and I don’t know why. Theories

1. Low nutrients
2. Low magnesium
3. Coral eating asterinas
4. Some chemical got in
5. All the above

Lost the zoas and RFAs first. Then the other softies and LPS. Finally some of the SPS does just before the move. Many corals lost some of their heads but not all. Others just completely died suddenly.

How do you decide when to pull the plug? I've had mass losses after hurricanes and make the tank fight it's way back, thinking it will make it stronger. Patience has been turning into neglect, but i feel in another year or 2 the system would be indestructible. But its already been a couple and i wast to get my reefing on.
In your opinion; is the system compromised, and can't recover after a event like that, or just faster to restart?

The crash was only one reason for the restart. I’ll do another list lol

1. The tank was scratched and old this not only made it ugly but also hard to clean as the algae was in the scratches
2. Wasn’t drilled and the siphon failed while I was away twice. Very lucky I didn’t flood my house.
3. Hated the aquascape and it was unstable. Just a variety of rocks from different places I just tossed in.

In the end I just hated the tank and was losing motivation despite me loving the hobby so I had to do something drastic and at the time I was making a lot of money.
